BDI is committed to supporting the voluntary efforts of its members and constituents towards improving the living conditions of the impoverished population within Bangladesh. In particular, BDI will:

• Support policy research that will advance the formulation and implementation of national policies to ensure the availability of food, home, health care, clothes, education and transportation to the people of Bangladesh

• Support industrialization and acceleration of rural development of Bangladesh as a means to alleviate poverty

• Foster strong relationships and solidarity across Bangladeshi residents of North America, to raise awareness around the developmental issues facing the country and to address those issues with a unified effort

• Initiate cultural exchange to promote international understanding between the people of Bangladesh and the world community

• Publish books, pamphlets and research dissertations to enhance the above objectives

• Target the underprivileged classes, women and children in all developmental efforts
